I love the necklace on the girl with the brown hair. And the gradient on her shirt came out really nicely. Can I have a pair of her shoes? They look comfy (or however you spell that)... The hair and the eyes on the girl in the middle is really nice contrast. And her outfit is awesome, especially the boots. I like the boy too, he has really nice hair.

She's one of my favs. Well, I mean...I can't be biased towards any of them, but...she did come out well, drawing-wise. And yes, if you can make them, or find someone to make her shoes, you're more than welcome to have a pair. If you get one, can you get me one too? ^^" The things I design...I wish I could have them. >_<
The girl in the middle was fun to design~ I mean, I had her character, but I didn't have the clothes. The swirl on her boots actually was the result of a pen slip. But I liked how it turned out.
And the boy...I did him rather quickly. I'm not good at designing guys...

But no, it's not a long comment at all, if you compare to mine. XD

*laughs* I'm glad her hair ended up looking vaguely realistic. I mean, really, I started out with a flat piece of paper, a pencil, a pen, an eraser, and colored pencils. But I think it may be the usage of different shades in her hair that give it volume, as you put it. Although, I think the word you may be looking for is 'dimension,' though volume works fine.
*laughs more* Yes, pen slips can be awesome sometimes. At other times, it's a pain. But I'm definitely pleased with the swirls. Concerning the height of the heels...don't ask. But really, if you think about it, most of her height is from the platform of the shoes. The tilt isn't actually that bad. If you take away the platform-ness...it's nearly flat. Or that's how I intended it to be like, anyways.
Yes, he is younger than the other two. He's a preteen, while the other two are teens.

Mm... I think dimesion is better. The shades definately help, as does the fact that is has real profile and... shape, I guess.
Well, okay... it's mostly the platform-ness. But how do you walk in platforms that high, just the same? *shudder* Oh well, I'm sure she does it fine... As long as it's her, not me.
